July 25, 2024: A Warning Against Premature Closure

A statement was released to the media titled “Remarks by Coordinator Md. Nahid Islam on the Current Situation.”

In it, the movement made its position clear. The revised gazette was not a final settlement. Real reform could only come through dialogue. And while the court’s ruling had laid a legal foundation, a policy imposed without public engagement would not restore trust.

The statement also pointed out that Parliament had not yet passed a law to solidify the changes. The problem, they reminded the nation, was not just technical—it was political.
